Property Tax Levy
The original 3-year property tax levy was voted down on May 15, 2007. It was expected that an alternative levy would be proposed on the September ballot for a shorter period or a smaller amount of money. Since the passage of the Iraq spending bill, with a one-year extension to the O&C Safety Net funding attached, it is now unlikely that another levy will be proposed, at least until the one-year Safety Net extension runs out.

Local Tourism Tax
A local tourism tax would leverage tourism to help fund our counties public safety, placing less of a burden on residents. However, there is no current plan for implementing such a tax.
